"Barcelona" - a hilarious stage
comedy that spoofs everything from Shakespeare to The Princess
Bride - was first performed at the Geneseo Shakespearean Festival
and Renaissance Faire in Illinois.
The play involves a damsel in distress ( of a highly unusual variety
) who relates her
adventures with a terrible husband-eating dragon.
Festival organizer Jennifer Kingry wrote:
"I heard nothing but raves about
the quality of the entertainment. You and the others of your
group got high praise, with 'Barcelona' earning special

me that there was so much for them to see and do, they stayed
far longer than they ever have in the past ( we've never had
crowds stay after closing before ... )"
